Position Title: Technical Maintenance Planner

Location: Assembly Drive, Rockford, IL 61109

Department: Maintenance

Shift: First Shift

Reporting To: Maintenance Manager

Responsible For (Staff): None

The Technical Planner works with all Maintenance, Vision, Engineering and Scheduling groups to effectively plan and execute scheduled work on equipment in an effort to reduce downtime, increase capacity and extend the life of the equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Initiate work requests in JDE.

  • Communicates with requestor for more detailed information if needed. Inspects machines and assesses craft, time and material needed to complete work order.

  • Attends Daily Direction Setting (DDS) for the MDIC department.

  • Specs out parts needed for repair or replacement through our preferred vendor list or suggest vendors with better pricing.

  • Works with PRT’s to determine root cause for equipment and part failures to identify improvement opportunities to mitigate future break downs.

  • Determines if parts ordered should be stocked or not.

  • Effectively communicates parts needs and timeline with vendors to ensure machinery will not have down time.

  • Communicates to the scheduling group to add open work orders to the schedule when time is needed to complete.

  • Reads Technical and Operating manuals.

  • Develops standards for repetitive jobs.

  • Collaborates with Engineering to determine spare parts to inventory when new equipment is received.

  • Works with Maintenance Planners to establish and monitor PM’s for equipment.

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • College Level Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
